Healing process information.

1. Cling Film Method (Traditional / Wrap Method)

This traditional method relies on manual daily washing and applying ointment.

  • Initial Removal: Keep the original cling film on for 2 to 4 hours after your session.

  • Washing: Gently wash the tattoo using lukewarm water and mild, fragrance-free soap. Wash away all ink, blood, and plasma.

  • Drying: Gently pat it dry with a clean paper towel (avoid cloth towels) and let it air-dry for 1-2 minutes.

  • Moisturizing: Apply a very thin layer of fragrance-free tattoo ointment or lotion (e.g., Bepanthen, Aquaphor, or Lubriderm). Avoid over-moisturizing.

  • Daily Routine: Repeat the wash and moisturize process 2 to 3 times a day for 2–3 weeks until fully healed.

  • Note: Do not rewrap in cling film unless your artist specifically instructs you to do so for the first night.

2. Second Skin Method (Medical Adhesive Bandage / Saniderm / Dermalize)

This modern method uses a breathable, waterproof medical film to accelerate "wet healing".

  • Application Period: Leave the film on for 24h to 3 days.

  • Fluid Buildup: Plasma and excess ink will collect under the film, forming a dark bubble ("ink sack"). This is completely normal and helps heal the wound.

  • Painless Removal: To remove, peel a corner under warm running water (in the shower). Stretch the film outward parallel to your skin rather than pulling it off like a plaster.

  • Post-Removal Care: Wash the tattoo with mild soap, pat dry with a paper towel, and transition to clean your tattoo 2-3 times a day and applying a thin layer of fragrance-free moisturizer 2 times a day until the peeling phase ends.

Universal Golden Rules for Both Methods:

  • No Soaking: Avoid baths, swimming pools, hot tubs, and oceans for at least 2–3 weeks.

  • No Picking/Scratching: Let any flaking skin or small scabs fall off naturally.

  • No Direct Sun: Keep the new tattoo out of direct sunlight during the healing phase.

  • No Sports: Wait 2-3 days before train or do any tipe of sport.
